Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Supervisors of Clarke County in Quitman, Mississippi until
10:00 A.M., on Thursday April 27, 2023, and shortly thereafter publicly opened for the construction of
0.084 mile Box Bridge and Approaches on County Road 210 / Eucutta Street in the Town of Shubuta,
District Two, Clarke County, Mississippi, also known as State Aid Project No. SAP-12(70).
BASIS OF AWARD: The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of the
published quantities.
Total Contract Time as Advertised: 80 Working Days
The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that, in any contract
entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full
opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the
grounds of race, color or national origin in consideration for an award.
The Plans, Specifications, and Contract documents are on file and can be viewed on the website of the Office
of State Aid Construction at www.osarc.gov, 412 East Woodrow Wilson Avenue, Jackson, MS 39216, and
obtained online via the website of the County Engineer, Lawrence R. Clark, P.E. at
www.clarkengineersprojects.com. By use of the website the plan holders shall have the option of obtaining
a hard copy of the Plans and Specifications and/or shall have the opportunity to submit an official bid online.
All hard copy proposals shall be directed to the attention of The Clarke County Board of Supervisors with the
outside of the envelope marked “Project No. SAP-12(70) Bid Proposal for Bridge Replacement Project”. The
contractor shall indicate certificate of responsibility number on the outside of the envelope. Online bids
shall be accepted and opened as instructed on the website and in the Contract Documents.
Certified Check or Bid Bond for five percent (5%) of total bid payable to Clarke County and the State of
Mississippi must accompany each proposal.
Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letter qualifying in any manner the
condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid, and such proposals
will not be considered in making the award.
